Hotels & guest rooms / APPLICATION GUIDE

Control the light. Consider the whole stay.

Guest rooms need dependable light control and easy daily operation. Hotel meeting and event spaces may also benefit from adjustable absorption and presentation blackout, with a different specification for each room type.

THE ROOM & THE REQUIREMENT

Guest-room light & flexible event spaces.

Even a light-excluding cloth can leave bright gaps above, below and beside a window. The complete curtain assembly must also suit housekeeping, the available stack space and the intended guest operation.

01

Limit unwanted window light

Design the fabric, lining and edge overlaps together for the guest-room brief.

02

Manage reflective surfaces

Where room assessment identifies a benefit, use appropriate absorption as part of the interior treatment.

03

Adapt meeting spaces

Separate event-room curtain runs can support presentations, dining and conference layouts.

PLACEMENT & SPECIFICATION

Make the detail
fit the room.

For bedrooms, coordinate the track with the window reveal, returns, head treatment and the space available beside the glazing.

Performance boundaryBlackout curtains do not guarantee sound isolation from traffic, corridors or adjoining rooms. Window and building performance need separate investigation.

What to establish

Light-control brief
Describe the expected result at the bed position and assess light from all openings.
Housekeeping
Confirm cleanability, removal for maintenance and fabric care before choosing the assembly.
Track operation
Check reach, stack dimensions, fixing conditions and the complete curtain weight.

Confirm the selected material’s certificates, care requirements and the final track and fixing design for your installation.

YOUR PROJECT BRIEF

Bring the room
into the conversation.

Room types, window details, preferred appearance, light-control expectations and housekeeping requirements.

Discuss your project ↗
Is dimout the same as blackout for a guest room?

No. Choose the intended light level first, then review the fabric’s stated performance and the installation edges. A dimout fabric may need a separate blackout lining to meet the brief.
