CURTAIN ADVICE
Studio curtains for the home
Plan acoustic and blackout curtains for a home office, recording room or cinema without confusing room treatment with sound insulation.

Start with the everyday room
A home room may need to remain comfortable for work and family use. Identify the main recording, listening or viewing position and select curtain coverage that can open away when it is not needed. Check radiators, furniture and access before placing a long track.
For calls and recording
A nearby window or bare wall can contribute noticeable reflections. Keep microphone technique consistent when trialling treatment and listen for computers, fans and outside noise independently. These sources need attention even after reflections have been reduced.
For a home cinema
Specify both the cloth’s light-control performance and the edge details. Decide whether the curtains cover windows, reflective walls or the screen itself. Do not place an absorption fabric over a speaker simply because it matches the décor.
Make it easy to live with
Check a sample in daytime and evening light. Choose a heading and track that suit the available stack space, and read the care instructions before choosing a lining or cleaning method. The configurator accepts either centimetres or millimetres.
Evidence & next steps
Use the original manufacturer specifications and test reports for the selected material. The testing section keeps results beside their installation conditions; the document library links to the source PDFs. These guides support specification and do not certify a particular room or installation.
