CURTAIN ADVICE
Ceiling-mounted curtain tracks for high ceilings
Plan high-level curtain tracks around structural support, complete loads, access, heading compatibility and operation.

Confirm the supporting structure
A ceiling finish is not automatically a load-bearing fixing surface. Identify the structural substrate and services before choosing brackets or anchors. High-level installations may need a survey and specialist access; generic screw spacing cannot establish a safe system.
Calculate the complete load
Estimate the cut face fabric mass from cloth area and grams per square metre, then include lining, heading and hardware. Allow the track designer to assess operating forces, support positions and the chosen manual or motorised mechanism.
Agree the measurement reference
Finished drop is the cloth length from its agreed top edge to the hem. Hook, carrier and heading offsets affect the relationship to the track. Check several heights where floors or ceilings vary and agree the intended floor clearance before manufacture.
Plan operation and future access
Wave needs compatible carriers and spacing; motorised systems need suitable controls and power planning. Keep inspection and maintenance access in the design. Ask for an installation proposal based on the actual room and selected system rather than using a generic drilling guide.
Evidence & next steps
Use the original manufacturer specifications and test reports for the selected material. The testing section keeps results beside their installation conditions; the document library links to the source PDFs. These guides support specification and do not certify a particular room or installation.
