What does 100% curtain fullness mean?
See how 0%, 50% and 100% fullness change cloth width, folds and the way acoustic test results should be compared.
THE SHORT ANSWER
100% fullness means twice the flat cloth width of the covered span, before hems and joins.
The data, explained.

| Fullness | Width multiplier | Flat cloth width |
|---|---|---|
| 0% | 1.0 × | 300 cm |
| 50% | 1.5 × | 450 cm |
| 100% | 2.0 × | 600 cm |
Illustrative arithmetic: coverage × (1 + fullness ÷ 100). Cloth width is not the linear metre ordering quantity. View the sources ↓
01 / THE DETAIL
Measure the span, then select the fullness
Coverage is the width the closed curtain needs to cover. Fullness is the additional fabric gathered into that span. A 300 cm track with 100% fullness still covers 300 cm; approximately 600 cm of flat face width is gathered into it before making allowances.
Enter the total track coverage once in our curtain configurator. Do not double your measured width before entering it, because the selected fullness is applied separately.
02 / THE DETAIL
A pair divides the coverage, not the calculation
For two equal panels on the same 300 cm track, each panel covers about 150 cm before separately agreed overlaps and returns. At 100% fullness each needs approximately 300 cm of flat face width, plus its own allowances. The cutting plan then determines how many complete roll widths must be joined.
This is why fabric metres cannot be calculated from track width alone. Finished drop, roll width, panel count and hems all affect the order.
03 / THE DETAIL
Fullness is part of the acoustic evidence
A report for a folded specimen does not describe that cloth installed flat. Compare the tested fullness and wall cavity as well as the fabric name. Extra folds change the assembly, but you should not invent a performance uplift between untested arrangements.
Our testing section keeps the published configurations separate. Where a result is absent, it stays unverified rather than being estimated from nearby rows.
04 / THE DETAIL
Choose the heading alongside the track
Pencil, wave and double pinch headings arrange cloth differently. A named heading is not itself an acoustic rating, and a wave system also requires compatible carriers and tape. Use the track and installation guide to plan the hardware, then confirm the actual fullness and finished appearance before making. Keep room for the gathered stack when the curtains are open.
